“The thrill of every game is in finding the back of the net – there is nothing more exciting!”
Improve your hockey shot - Wrist, Slap, Backhand, and Snap Shot... at home!
The SkinnerShooter:
Scoring is the key to winning hockey games. Good opportunities to score during the course of a game are quite often limited. As a player advances through the years to the higher skill level, these opportunities per game diminish; therefore taking advantage of every scoring chance is the key. Goal scoring involves technique, accuracy, good decision making, and speed. The thrill of every game is in finding the back of the net -- There is nothing more exciting!
Like every other part of the game, you must learn the correct technique to shooting along with building up the muscle strength to execute the shot - wrist, slap, backhand, and snap shot. Shooting requires not only whole body strength, but great wrist and forearm strength along with the correct technique.

Also, it is a proven fact that a goalie cannot react fast enough to stop an 80 mph shot from the top of the circle...they either have to be in the right position or have to react first before the shot to make the save.
The wrists must turn over when shooting. “Push Pull action” is an expression commonly used to describe this action. The bottom hand/wrist is down, while the top hand/wrist is turned up at the beginning of the shot. As the shot is executed the hands/wrist will turn over ending with the bottom hand/wrist turned up and the top hand/wrist is turned down. The hands work in opposites. Strengthening the muscles for these movements will greatly improve your shot.
The Skinner Shooter is designed for off ice training allowing the user to correctly align their shot, push and pull, and follow through. All of this done under resistance by specially designed bands with a smooth constant load through the movement. The player will build muscle strength, power, and quickness. Younger players must learn the proper mechanics to skating and shooting. At this young age they have not built up the muscle strength to execute the required move and often they forget how to perform the movement correctly. The SkinnerShooter will help keep their body in line for the shot and allow them to exercise the very same muscles needed to shoot the puck off the ice.
Almost every golf course includes a driving range. You now have the opportunity to have your own shooting tool in the comforts of your own home or facility to train the hockey shot just like a golfer does on the driving range.
